VisiPacT Safety Switches from CED Sarasota

VisiPacT safety switches are the newest generation of Square D heavy duty safety switches, a product line first introduced in 1907. They keep the same trusted switching mechanism. In addition, each switch now comes standard with a viewing window, touch-safe barriers and a QR code for quick access to product information. The ergonomic handle also accommodates a hook stick.

At CED Sarasota, we help contractors, facility teams and equipment builders choose the right configuration for service entrance, motor disconnect and branch circuit applications. For the complete product range, see Schneider Electric’s heavy duty safety switch catalog.

Standard Features

Standard Features Built Around Safety

Every feature on a VisiPacT switch has one job: to make isolating power safer and simpler. As a result, crews can confirm switch status faster and maintain equipment with fewer steps.

Viewing Window

Verify switch position through the standard viewing window without opening the door.

Touch-Safe Barriers

Barriers help prevent accidental contact with live parts. The NEC requires them for service entrance applications.

Two-Color Handle

The position-indicating handle is easy to read from an angle or a distance. Most models also include a hook stick loop.

QR Code Access

Scan the QR code on the switch to pull up product information on the spot, right at the equipment.

Lockout Ready

The extruded lock plate accepts up to three padlocks, which helps crews meet OSHA lockout requirements.

Field-Replaceable Parts

Thanks to the modular design, worn interior parts, handles and lock plates can be replaced in the field.

Ratings and Construction

Ratings and Enclosures for VisiPacT Safety Switches

Durability is built in, too. According to the VisiPacT brochure, 30 to 100 A switches are rated for 50,000 mechanical operations. By comparison, the NEMA KS 1 heavy duty requirement is 15,000 operations at 30 and 60 A. Meanwhile, single-throw Type 3R and 12 enclosures use galvannealed steel, and Type 4X enclosures are seam-welded for corrosion protection.

Applications

Where VisiPacT Safety Switches Are Used

Safety switches isolate power during routine maintenance. They also provide an effective way to interrupt power in an emergency. For that reason, Schneider Electric highlights three key applications.

Service Entrance

A disconnect at the service entrance, with touch-safe barriers and factory-bonded neutral options.

Sight Disconnect for Motors

A lockout disconnect within sight of motors and driven equipment, built to break heavy motor loads.

Branch Circuit Protection

Fused switches that isolate and protect individual branch circuits across a facility.

Typical markets include industrial plants, construction, water and wastewater, data centers, automotive, packaging, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, retail and commercial OEM equipment.
